I filed a consumer proposal a few years ago, which I subsequently declared bankruptcy. Both cases involved the same debts and creditors. Sixteen months passed between the two. I am now discharged from bankruptcy, but when I apply for credit, lenders see two bankruptcies on my credit report. How can I ensure these two events are not treated as separate bankruptcies?

You will need to contact the credit bureaus (Equifax) in writing to have your report corrected.

You can also do this online, I believe, on their websites.
