I'm trying to make arrangements with the credit company of a department store chain, and they're refusing. I owe them $3,000. Can they seize my bank account?

A creditor cannot seize funds without a court order, which is unlikely for a debt of $3,000.

The exception is if you authorized Mastercard to withdraw funds directly from your bank account when you opened the line of credit. Normally, you would have seen withdrawals from your account by now if that was the case.
