For the past year, I've had gambling problems (video lottery). I've accumulated about $50,000 (including $20,000 this past month) in credit card debt (cash advances). I'm thinking of waiting three months before filing with the trustee (at least to demonstrate my good faith in repaying the minimums; I have no more withdrawals, I've reached all my limits). I have a job and earn about $45,000 annually, but I was scared when I consulted the Superintendent's Office website: I'm afraid the credit companies will think I've committed fraud. I saw several summaries of bankrupt cases, as gambling is considered a crime.
